A urologist and andrologist with super-specialty (M.Ch) training, focused on minimally invasive and reconstructive urology.

Dr. Narasimha Reddy completed his super-specialty (M.Ch) in Urology at King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam (a teaching hospital), after an M.S in General Surgery. His work covers the range of urological care, with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgery: laparoscopic and robotic procedures that mean smaller incisions, less pain and a quicker return to everyday life.

As a renal transplant surgeon, he manages complex kidney disease and the dialysis access that many patients depend on. Alongside surgery, he offers andrology care for men's reproductive and sexual health, handled with discretion, clear explanations and no rush.

A medical gastroenterologist, hepatologist and therapeutic endoscopist, a NIMS Gold Medalist with super-specialty (D.M) training.

Patient guides

Understand your condition

Plain-language guides to common urology and gastroenterology conditions we treat in Visakhapatnam, what they are, the symptoms to watch for, and how we can help. This is general information, not a diagnosis.

Urology

Kidney stones

Kidney stone treatment in Visakhapatnam

What it is

Kidney stones are hard deposits of minerals and salts that form inside the kidneys. They can be as small as a grain of sand or grow large enough to block the flow of urine. Small stones often pass on their own; larger ones may need a procedure to break or remove them.

Common symptoms

  • Sharp pain in the side or back, below the ribs
  • Pain that spreads to the lower abdomen and groin
  • Pain or burning while passing urine
  • Pink, red or brown urine
  • Cloudy or foul-smelling urine
  • Nausea, vomiting and a frequent urge to urinate

When to see us

  • Severe pain that won't settle
  • Blood in the urine
  • Fever and chills alongside stone pain
  • Difficulty passing urine, or persistent vomiting

Fever with stone pain can signal infection and needs urgent care.

How we treat it

Treatment depends on the size and position of the stone. Options range from medication and fluids to help small stones pass, to laser stone treatment, endoscopic stone surgery (URS/RIRS) and minimally invasive (key-hole) surgery for larger stones. Dr. Narasimha Reddy explains which approach fits your stone, and why.

General information, not a substitute for an in-person consultation.

Your care journey

What to expect, step by step

Every patient's path is a little different, but the shape is the same: clear explanations at each stage, and the least invasive care that solves the problem.

Step 01

Symptoms

You notice something: pain, a change, or a worry. Note when it started and what makes it better or worse; that helps us.

Step 02

Consultation

Book directly. No referral needed. The consultant listens to your history, examines you, and answers your questions in plain language.

Step 03

Diagnosis

We explain what we think is going on and why, and what we still need to confirm it.

Step 04

Testing

If tests are needed, blood work, scans or endoscopy, we arrange them and explain any preparation. Please call to confirm fasting or prep for your specific test.

Step 05

Treatment

We discuss the options and choose the least invasive one that fits, from medication to laparoscopic, robotic or endoscopic procedures.

Step 06

Recovery

We guide you through aftercare, what's normal, what to watch for, and when you can return to everyday life.

Step 07

Follow-up

We review your progress and keep a plan in place, so nothing is left unmonitored.
